Page.  Fourth Story of the Clarendon House, 304 Broadway, Corner Duane st., New-York, Room No. 22.   Likenesses taken in a few seconds in any kind of weather.

A. Page was recorded in Craig’s Daguerreian Registry as being active at 204 Broadway.

Professor O’Neil was recorded in one advertisement that appeared on May 3, 1855 in The New York Herald (New York, New York).  New York Picture Company.—Daguerreotypes, 25 and 50 cents; photographs, $1 to $5.—A club of twenty artists employed taking 600 daily, by a principle of economy, system, and speed.  Professors O’Neil and Von Sneidenburgh, of Ireland and Germany, engaged by this company, 289 Broadway.

Professor O’Neil is not recorded in other photographic directories.  289 Broadway is Silas A. Holmes address, he often mentions in his advertisements that he employs twenty to twenty-five international artist.

Marcus A. O’Brien

Marcus A. O’Brien was recorded in one advertisement that appeared on August 15, 1855 in The New York Herald (New York, New York).  Daguerreotypes, Photographs and Stereoscopes.—Marcus A. O’Brien, so long and favorably known as principal operator in one of the oldest galleries in the city, would respectfully inform his friends and the public that he has taken the first class establishment known as Gaige’s International Daguerrean Gallery, 369 Broadway, first door above Taylor’s saloon.  Photographs, from cabinet to life size, taken less than at any other establishment in the city.  Daguerreotypes, photographs and stereoscopes taken in all kinds of weather.

Marcus A. O’Brien is recorded in Craig’s Daguerreian Register as being active in New York city 1853-1859, but is listed without a business address in 1855.

The New York Daguerrean Gallery was recorded in one advertisement that ran on December 31, 1850 in the New York Daily Tribune (New York, New York).  The New-York Daguerrean Gallery, corner of Bleecker and Carmine sts. is the place to obtain Daguerreotypes that are unsurpassed for truthfulness and life-like appearance.  Prices from fifty cents to ten dollars.  N. B.—The Gallery will be open during New Year Day.

The New York Daguerrean Gallery is not listed in other photographic directories.  Craig’s Daguerreian Register does record several New York Daguerrean Galleries, but the dates and address do not match.

Nevada was recorded in one advertisement that ran on December 11, 1851 in The New York Herald (New York, New York).  To Daguerreotypists.—A Lady Every Way qualified to attend a reception room, wishes to obtain a situation in New York, or some Southern city; has had several years experience in the business.  Satisfactory references given from artists and others.  Address, for one week, Miss. A. Nevada, New York Post Office.

H. D. W. Moulton was recorded in one newspaper advertisement, the 1854 Manchester City Directory, Business Directory, and an advertisement in the same directory (Manchester, New Hampshire). Daguerreian Artists. Moulton, H. D. W., Ayer’s Block.

The newspaper advertisement ran from January 14 to March 4, 1858 in the New York Daily Tribune (New York, New York).  Frederick’s Photographic Temple Of Art, Nos. 585 and 587 Broadway, opposite Metropolitan Hotel.—Photographs, Hallotypes, Daguerreotypes and Ambrotypes, in every style.  Photographs by Mr. Moulton, formerly with Gurney.

H. D. W. Moulton is recorded in other photographic directories but no mention of a connection to Frederick, Gurney or being active in 1858.

Mott & Bedell were recorded in an advertisement on March 19, 1857 in The New York Herald  (New York, New York).  Wanted—Two Young Ladies, Of Prepossessing appearance, to attend a daguerreotype saloon South.  High wages paid.  Apply for three days to Mott & Bedell, 53 South st.

Mott & Bedell are not recorded in other photographic directories.

George P. Morse

George P. Morse was recorded in one advertisement that appeared on September 9, 1859 in The New York Herald (New York, New York).  Photograph Gallery For Sale—Large, And well located; only up one flight of stairs; five year lease, with or with out specimens and apparatus; is between Brady and Gurney’s, 691 Broadway.  A fine locality for bon ton business.  Inquire of George P. Morse, on the premises.[1]

George P. Morse is recorded in Craig’s Daguerreian Registry as George D. Morse in 1860 at 691 Broadway.  This is the same address as Silas A. Holmes.

Morand & Peale

1842                Broadway, opposite the City Hall and Park, New York, New York.

Morand & Peale (probably Augustus Morand & C. W. Peale) were recorded in an advertisement that ran from March 1 to 14, 1842 in the New York Tribune (New York, New York).  New York Museum, Formerly Peale’s, Broadway opposite the City Hall and Park.

The whole collection has recently undergone a new arrangement and many valuable articles added to it.  The Portrait Gallery has been greatly increased and enlarged, as well as the Lecture Room.

Among the Miscellaneous Curiosities may be named the Egyptian Mummy from the City of Thebes, at least 3000 years old, Javanese and other Idols, Sephulcral Vessels containing Ashes of the Dead, Curious Coral (Neptune’s Punch Bowl,) Sea Lions, Siamese Twins, in Wax, &c.

Daguerreotype Likenesses taken from 9 to 4 every day, in a few seconds of time and neatly by Messrs. Morand & Peale.

At 4 o’clock every afternoon some highly interesting experiments in Mesmerism or Animal Magnetism take place.  The subject is a blind lady of intelligence and the operator is Rubens Peale, manager of the museum.

Philosophical Experiments take place every evening in the lecture Room at half past 7; and every Saturday after noon at 3 o’clock.  Fancy Glass Working by Mr. Marshall.  Yearly Tickets for a single person $3; gentleman and lady $5, and for a family $10.  Day visitors admitted the same evening without further charge.  Admission, as usual, 25 cents; Children half price.

Morand & Peale are not recorded in other photographic directories.  Augustus Morand is recorded in other directories, but C. W. Peale is not.
