Turpin was recorded in one advertisement in The North Star (Rochester, New York) that appeared on January 28, 1848.   Would invite the attention of his friends and the public to his Daguerrian Gallery 138 Hanover Street where he pledges himself to execute miniatures with a life like finish and on as moderate terms as any other [in] the profession.  Joseph H. Turpin.
