1848 Rooms at the Washington Hotel, Joliet, Illinois. 1848 Address Unknown, Wilmington, Illinois.
J. P. Jones was recorded in two announcements in the Juliet Signal (Joliet, Illinois). The first appeared on March 28, 1848. J. P. Jones, Daguerreotypist, has opened rooms at the Washington Hotel, in this place, where he is prepared to take likenesses of all who may give him a call. We have seen some specimens of his work which are the most delicate execution. Those who desire to have their likenesses taken in a life like manner should avail themselves of the present opportunity. He intends remaining in the place but a few days.
The second announcement appeared on April 4, 1848. Those wishing Daguerreotype likenesses of themselves or friends, had better call on Mr. Jones, at the Washington Hotel, soon, as he expects to leave in a few days. He intends visiting Wilmington next week.
J. P. Jones is not listed in other photographic directories.
