Mr. Kelly

1857                Address and Location Unknown.

Mr. Kelly was recorded in an announcement that appeared on April 23, 1857 in the Green-Mountain Freeman (Montpelier, Vermont).  A beautiful and accomplished girl, step daughter of a Mr. Stone in Landsgrove Vt., eloped a few weeks since with a daguerrean artist named Kelly, who leaves behind a wife and three children, and the guilty couple are wandering about the country, pursued by the stepfather, whose efforts to arrest Kelly have as yet proved abortive.  Kelly persuaded her to go with him by using the vile “free love” doctrine of affinity, as an argument.—Phoenix.
