Clark, would respectfully inform the public that having purchased out Mr. R. Atkins’ Daguerreotype Stock he is now prepared to take miniatures in a superior style.

His friends, Ladies, and Gentlemen, and the public generally, are politely invited to call at his room and examine specimens.  His miniatures are warranted to give satisfaction.  Liberty, June 24, 1853.

Adkins is not recorded in other photographic directories as being active in Liberty, Missouri in 1853.  A Robert Adkins is recorded as being active in 1862 in Liberty, Missouri in  Pioneer Photographers From The Mississippi To The Continental Divide A Biographical Dictionary, 1839-1865.  It is unknown, but possible that they are the same person.
