J. Cephas Pride is recorded in one advertisement that ran on May 16 & 23, 1849 in the Richland Courier (Pulaski, New York).  Daguerreotype Likenesses.  The Subscriber would respectfully announce to the ladies and gentlemen of Pulaski and vicinity, that he has opened a Daguerrean Gallery, one door north of N. M. Wardwell’s store, where he will be happy to receive a call from his friends; and pledge himself that he will take their Miniatures better than any other artist has been able to do heretofore, in this place.  J.
